Founded in 2023, the Ora Quartet brings together four of Ireland’s most sought-after chamber musicians and collaborators: Siún Milne, Molly O’Shea, Ali Comerford and Yseult Cooper Stockdale. Having performed alongside one another for several years with ensembles including the Irish Chamber Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, Ficino Ensemble and Kirkos Ensemble, the quartet was formed from a shared enjoyment of making music together.

Since their inaugural concert at Fuddlefest in August 2023, Ora Quartet have performed on several NSQF National Tours and have been broadcast on Lyric FM. The quartet has a particular interest in collaboration and in creating programmes that bring together a diverse range of artists, genres and musical traditions.

Recent projects have included a concert series at The Everyman in Cork, featuring extraordinary artists such as mezzo-soprano Niamh O’Sullivan; a performance at Ionad Cultúrtha, Baile Bhúirne, featuring new arrangements by Cormac McCarthy for traditional singer Hammy Hamilton and string quartet; and the recording of an album of new works written especially for the quartet in collaboration with singer-songwriter James Smith.
